Dear Friends and Neighbors, (Feel
free to share this with a friend.)
I am now president of the
Lakewood Ranch Democratic Club. In May of 2008 a group of us met at Trent
Millerís house, and organized ourselves into an interested and active club. We
met monthly, and as the election neared, we met bi-weekly. We knocked on doors,
made phone calls, worked the polls, registered voters, and met new and remarkable
people here and in Sarasota for spirited discussion and interaction.
As was to be expected there was a
lull after the inauguration, but our interest is being piqued again around the
subject of health care, and in response to the inflammatory nature in which
this subject is being explored. So itís time to get engaged again.
The Lakewood Ranch Democratic
Club is a bit of a misnomer in that attendance at our meetings is open to anyone who lives in Manatee County and is a
registered Democrat, an unaffiliated vote, or a disillusioned Republican.
Our initial goal is to
re-invigorate our paid-up membership roll.
Please send a check for $25.00 per person to our treasurer Ms. Ginny
Orenstein, 8047 Royal Birkdale
Circle, Lakewood Ranch, FL 34202; or be prepared to bring it with you the next time you
The Manatee County Democratic headquarters has recently moved to 902 Manatee Avenue East, approximately 5 miles west of I-75, exit 220. It is a red brick building on the left, diagonally across from the iconic Rexall Building, as you approach downtown Bradenton. We will be looking for all sorts of support as we work towards strengthening our position in our next election cycle.
Thanks for your support,
